Choosing one
- Confirm the licence. Florida licenses mold assessors specifically; a general inspector credential is not the same thing.
- Ask whether they also remediate, and on what basis. There is a lawful route (the Division I contractor exception) but you should know which you are dealing with.
- Ask what the deliverable is. A written protocol with sample results and a scope, not a verbal summary. If it will not be written down it cannot be used for anything.
- Choose your own. Referral compensation between assessors and remediators is prohibited both ways, and picking independently removes the question entirely.
